Introduction to Carbine

Designed specifically for the novice, Introduction to Carbine covers basic defensive use and marksmanship. The session will begin with an overview of the anatomy and controls of the tool and then progress into handling skills and body mechanics. Ready positions will be discussed as a part of the fundamentals of marksmanship and students can expect to leave with self-diagnostic skills to continue learning on their own.

  • Carbine anatomy and controls
  • Equipment Setup
  • Effective Grip
  • Presenting to target
  • Ready positions
  • Body mechanics

Equipment Needed:

  • Serviceable carbine
  • Sling (optional)
  • Two magazines
  • Ballistic eye protection
  • Hearing protection (electronic preferably)
  • 50 rounds of ammunition (No steel core or armor-piercing)
  • Fluids for hydration
